The 64th annual Elting Library Fair is canceled for 2020.
Along with an amazing collection of books for sale, the library fair also offers great finds on jewelry, crafts, toys and games, plants, antiques, flea market items and artwork. There’s lots of food too, and live music all day long!
There is an early bird sale of books on Saturday from 8:00 to 9:00 am for a ten dollar donation per person. Book sales also continue on Sunday from 10:00 to 3:00.
The library fair features the best raffle in town. You do not have to be present to win at the raffle. Tickets will be available at the circulation desk and at the Fair itself.
To donate books to the Library Fair, park near the shed in the parking lot, come get the key to the shed, and put your books in the shed.
Book donations to the library are accepted through September 20. We accept books that are clean and in good condition. However, college textbooks. high school textbooks, Reader’s Digest Condensed Books, magazines, and encyclopedia sets are not accepted.
The deadline for toy donations has been extended to August 26. Gently used toys, small stuffed animals, puzzles, games and bikes in good condition are appreciated. The following items will not be accepted: large stuffed animals, toddler play sets, and car seats.
The flea market does not accept clothing, outdated electronics, cassette tapes, shoes, or large furniture.
We also accept plants (labeled), jewelry, small collectibles, flea market items, toys and games, antiques and artwork.
If you like to bake, the food booth can use cookies, muffins, brownies, and cakes.
To make donation delivery easier, volunteers will be available in the library parking lot on Saturday August 5 and 26 and September 9, from 10 a.m. until noon, to help you unload. All other times, donations (except books) can be brought directly to the library circulation desk during library hours. Please check this web site for library hours.
Elting Library Seeks Vendors for Library Fair
Elting Library’s 64th Annual Library Fair will be held on Saturday, October 3. There is a limited amount of space available for vendors from the community who would like to set up a booth at the Fair.
Over 1,000 people attend this community event every year. It’s a place to see friends, make new friends, spend a few hours enjoying the early fall day, and make some unique purchases to support the Library. Elting is looking for vendors who sell goods with price points below $100 that can be bagged and carried home that day.
Vendors are responsible for securing any necessary permits and licenses and cannot sell books as their primary item. Available spaces are 10 x 10. Applications will be reviewed by the Fair Committee.
The Fair is held behind the Library at the corner of North Front and Church Streets in downtown New Paltz. Those interested in becoming a vendor can find the application on the library’s website: eltinglibrary.org. Click on Elting Events and then Library Fair. Or pick application up at the Library Elting Memorial Library, 93 Main Street, New Paltz, NY 12561.
