Planned Giving

At the Elting Memorial Library, we are grateful for the annual support from community members. This support allows us to meet our operating budget. We are also thankful to everyone who has made a special gift for the library’s expansion. We couldn’t operate or grow without you. If, in addition, you would like to provide for Elting’s future, a planned gift can be an ideal way to leave a legacy that will help support the library for years to come and may provide tax benefits to your family. Making a planned gift is both simple and meaningful.

Ways That You Can Make a Planned Gift:

Bequest
A gift made to the Elting Memorial Library in your will. It is fully deductible for federal estate tax purposes. The following is sample language for an unrestricted bequest for the library:

Unrestricted Bequest: “I give, devise and bequeath (amount of money or specific assets or percent of the residue of my estate) to the Elting Library, 93 Main Street, New Paltz, NY 12561, for its general purposes.”

Retirement Plan
You may designate that the proceeds from any existing retirement plan at the time of your death go to the Elting Library.

Life Insurance
You may name the Elting Memorial Library as a beneficiary or partial beneficiary of life insurance policies not needed for your family’s protection.

Stocks, Bonds, and Mutual Funds
You may make a gift to the Elting Library by donating stocks, bonds or mutual funds.
